The objective is to teach you the basic skills of fly fishing to prepare you for your first fly fishing experience. You will receive instruction on fly casting techniques, types of equipment and their use, trout behavior, and insect life. Fly fishing strategies will be discussed to enhance your success on the water. After a demonstration of the fly cast, you will be given ample opportunity to practice in a stress-free environment.
Prerequisites
There are no experience or age limitations. However, students need to be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to properly cast a fly rod. All equipment is provided by the instructor although you are certainly welcome to use your personal equipment if desired.
Cost
The cost is $150.00 for a typical six-hour instruction period. Approximately two-thirds of our instruction will involve classroom instruction and the balance of time spent actually fishing a stream or pond to practice your new skills. Course time can be adjusted to suit your individual needs and we will endeavor to make your first fly fishing experience an enjoyable one. If you feel more comfortable in a group setting, we can offer group sessions based on availability of students and their level of their experience.

Intermediate Instruction
The objective if this level of instruction is designed to provide a novice fly fisherman (or woman) with additional skills and knowledge to enhance your experience fly fishing on lakes, rivers and streams. We'll help provide the confidence for you to tackle these fishing environments with an expectation of a great day on the water.
Prerequisites
The typical student should ideally have taken our basic level of instruction or at least been introduced to fly fishing and has spent some time on the water. There is a wide gulf of ability at the intermediate level and our instruction will be specifically tailored to your skill set and goals. As with the basic course, any student should be physically able to accomplish the casting motion comfortably. We can provide the equipment or you can bring your own gear.
Cost
The cost is $150.00 for a typical four-hour
instruction period. Our time will be spent equally learning or honing your skills and applying your improved skills on the water. Again, the time spent at this level can be flexible to meet your individual or group needs.
